A Huge Thank You to Everyone who Made Wall Ball 2024 a Success!

Wall Ball 2024 was a smashing success! Supporters, friends, artists, and staff gathered to celebrate the Roots & Reimagination of Mural Arts over the last four decades. We had an incredible night of art and celebration at Wall Ball, and we couldn’t have done it without YOU! From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for supporting Mural Arts Philadelphia’s commitment to community-centered public art. With your support, we surpassed our fundraising goal of $500,000!

Last Friday night, we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network and Mural Arts. As part of the celebration, we honored some of the people and artists who have contributed to our success over the last four decades: Senator Vincent Hughes and award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph; Estelle Richman, Executive Director of the Civic Coalition to Save Lives and Senior Advisor to the City Managing Director; artist Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter; and artist collective Amber Art & Design.

I’d like to thank everyone who has been a part of PAGN and Mural Arts over the years – the staff, the artists, the funders and supporters, and, of course, all of the community members we have worked with to create the nearly 4,000 murals across our city. Because of your support, Philadelphia is the “Mural Capital of the World”!

We are truly grateful for the city’s unwavering support over the years. Through the decades, Mural Arts has cultivated the City of Philadelphia like a garden, nurturing the city’s landscape through transformative art. Your support has been essential in sowing seeds of growth, innovation, and solution-finding within our communities.

The party was exhilarating! Thanks to everyone who entertained us, including free-flowing sets by DJ Skeme Richards, the R&B/funk/soul sounds of Ryan Gilfillian and Friends, with additional music by Kyon Williams, a jaw-dropping hip-hop dance performance by TAMEARTZ, and the heart-pumping beats of the West Powelton Drumline.

Of course, no Mural Arts event would be complete without art! We watched as murals were created right before our eyes by mural artists Akira Gordon, Priscilla Bell Lamberty, Cody Stuhltrager, and spray artists Distort and Calo Rosa. And our Emcee, Nina “Lyrispect” Ball, did a fantastic job keeping the night flowing. And wasn’t the food by Catering by Design delicious?
