Richard “Dick” Allen Design Unveil

Mural Arts Philadelphia (Mural Arts), alongside the City of Philadelphia and Philadelphia Phillies, will announce and unveil the design of a new mural coming to 2221 S Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148, in the surrounding neighborhood of the Phillies home at Citizens Bank Park. The new mural will pay tribute to MLB All-Star Dick Allen, who played with the Philadelphia Phillies from 1963 – 1969 and again in 1975 – 1976. The Phillies retired Allen’s number 15 on September 3, 2020, before his passing on December 7, 2020, and he has been considered for induction to the Baseball Hall of Fame, including in 2014 and 2021 for 2015 and 2022 induction classes, but fell shy of votes. In addition to the Phillies, Allen played for the St. Louis Cardinals, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Chicago White Sox, and the Oakland Athletics. Alongside his baseball career, Allen was also known as a professional singer performing with “Rich Allen and The Ebonistics.”
