Mural Paint Day: Migrating Home

Mural Arts Philadelphia has partnered with the Passyunk Square Civic Association to create a new mural celebrating the vibrant diversity of the neighborhood. This new mural, by Philly-based artist Shira Walinsky, will be located at 10th & Dickinson in the heart of the community.

Migrating Home is an interpretive map of the Passyunk Square neighborhood and South Philly vicinity. It uses colorful blocks and waves at the bottom representing the waves of migration. Elements such as the Italian Market, selected businesses and iconic landmarks are depicted in the map. Migrating Home is a vibrant and whimsical orientation to the neighborhood that represents the diversity within the community of those who have been here for generations and those who are new to Passyunk Square.

Light refreshments will be provided. Dress to paint!
