In October 2015, Open Source captured Philadelphia’s collective imagination. Mural Arts’ citywide public art exhibition was uniquely about Philadelphia: the civic challenges and opportunities that we face, and the outcomes of collaborative thinking. Curated by Pedro Alonzo, Open Source brought 13 trailblazing artists from all over the world to Philadelphia for groundbreaking projects that illuminated the city’s diverse public identity.
On Thursday, February 16 from 5–7 p.m., join us at the Sonesta Philadelphia’s Art Bar to celebrate the release of the Open Source catalog, which looks back on Mural Arts’ largest project to date and examines the 13 projects and 40+ public programs that fueled conversation and creativity throughout the city. Purchase your copy of the book and hear about the ongoing impact of Open Source through the eyes of curator Pedro Alonzo, participating artist Michelle Angela Ortiz, and Mural Arts staff.
