Mural Dedication: WE

Join us to celebrate We, a mural created by artist Marcus Balum in collaboration with students from Mastery Charter School – Lenfest Campus through our Arts Integration program.

From 2014 to 2017, students explored the historical significance of Old City architecture, comparing photo archives and contemporary images to marry past and present. The resulting mural design also deconstructs familiar symbols around the founding of the United States and examines the portraiture of historic African Americans from Philadelphia.
