Perks of the Job

Last week I was sent on a mission to help scout locations for a still super-secret project along the Philadelphia stretch of the northeast rail corridor. I can’t talk about that, but if you’ve taken Amtrak, (or Septa’s Chestnut Hill West line, which shares the same tracks) you’ve probably noticed the miles long, nearly continuous stretch of graffiti between the 30th Street and North Philadelphia stations.

I’ve wanted to walk that section of track since I was a kid. Last week I finally had the opportunity. Complete with an Amtrak orange vest and employee guide/escort, we scouted half a dozen stretches. It’s always fun exploring what is a generally off limits. Here are some photos I shot along the way:
