Mural Arts on CBS and The Huffington Post

by: RJ Rushmore

Mural Arts Philadelphia was recently featured on both CBS and The Huffington Post.

Questlove, drummer and co-founder of The Roots, was profiled CBS News’ Sunday morning programming about his rise to stardom. During the segment, he took CBS’ Anthony Mason to see Legendary, a mural by Amber Art & Design featuring Tatyana Fazlalizadeh. The mural is a tribute to The Roots and their inspirational rise from busking on the streets of Philadelphia to winning mutliple GRAMMY awards. You can read a version of the profile on CBSnews.com.

This summer, Brooklyn Street Art‘s Jaime Rojo visited Philadelphia to see our murals. The trip resulted in a wide-ranging article by Rojo and Steven Harrington about Mural Arts Philadelphia on The Huffington Post. The article covers many of the diverse aspects of what we do, and ties it all together with beautiful photographs by Rojo and an interview with Mural Arts’ Executive Director Jane Golden. Rojo and Harrington come from a background in writing about street art, so it’s been particularly interesting for us to see what they found inspiring and useful about Mural Arts Philadelphia. You can read the full article on The Huffington Post.
