Plastic China Film Screening, with the Trash Mobile

Before the film screening begins at 6 p.m., catch the Trash Academy Trash Mobile to test your knowledge, learn something new, and play our new trash games. In partnership with Phlask, the Trash Mobile will be set up as a water bar, where you can taste types of water and learn about single-use plastics and their environmental impact.

At 6 p.m, join the Philadelphia Zero Waste and Litter Cabinet, Free Library of Philadelphia, and Republic Services for a screening of the film Plastic China, which tells the story of the impacts of single-use plastics on the environment and on the people who process them. The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion on how single-use plastics affect us right here in Philadelphia, with panelists Derek Green (Philadelphia City Councilman), Carlton Williams (Philadelphia Streets Department Commissioner), Alice Wright (Overbrook Environmental Education Center), and Blew Kind (Founder, Franny Lou’s Porch).
