The Walls That Connect Us: A Conversation with Jane Golden

The Walls That Connect Us: How Murals Reflect the City’s Identity
A talk and community conversation with Jane Golden of Mural Arts Philadelphia.

During this Parkway 100 program at the Barnes Foundation, Jane Golden, Executive Director of Mural Arts Philadelphia, will discuss the organization’s community-based process for creating public art and how every aspect of the work—the artists, the stakeholders, and the audiences—fits into a larger discourse about Philadelphia’s identity. Discover the ways Philadelphia’s mural collection, much like the Parkway, connects all sides of the city, in times of joy, mourning, triumph, and struggle.

Admission is free, as part of the Barnes Foundation’s PECO Free First Sunday Family Day programming.

First Sundays tickets are available onsite at 10 a.m., include collection access, and are limited to four per person. Families with children under 18 will be granted priority access to the collection at the time of arrival.
