PIFA Preview Celebration with the Kimmel Center

The Kimmel Center is celebrating PIFA 2018 one year early with week-long festivities to unite and inspire the entire community through free, interactive experiences and a spirit of community.

Brought to Dilworth Park by internationally-renowned French visual artist Olivier Grossetete in partnership with the Kimmel Center, hundreds of Philadelphians will construct The People’s Tower—a huge edifice without any cement or bricks! 1,400 cardboard boxes and 18 miles of masking tape will rise into an 88-foot monumental community-performance-architectural structure evocative of Independence Hall.

Art in Public Space: A Public Forum

Hear a panel of star-studded public artists, place makers, and arts administrators dive into what exactly is public space and what it means to create art within it. Learn how public art is different from art presented in a traditional theater and how it connects an audience.  Panelist include members from INSITU and Jane Golden, Mural Arts Philadelphia.
