Exhibition: Kay Healy

Join us as textile sculpture artist Kay Healy presents new collaborative work created with youth from Southeast by Southeast, a dynamic community space for immigrant and refugee families in South Philly. Started in 2011, this initiative has grown and evolved and become a focal point for community activities, social services, and public art. Healy worked with youth to create soft sculptures and stories imagining the lives and powers of inanimate objects found in the streets of South Philadelphia. The class painted, sewed, and stuffed objects that would be used to create the stop motion video depicting the magical origin story of the discarded objects. Join the students, their teachers, artist Kay Healy, and other community members as they present this new work.
