Mateo Fernández-Muro

Mateo Fernández-Muro is a Spanish architect from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Master Degree in Advanced Architectural Projects (MPAA) in 2013 from Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM) and Master in Design and Urban Ecologies (MSDUE) in 2016 from Parsons The New School for Design in New York. He currently lives in this city while being a PhD candidate at ETSAM, researching on the political relation between spatial fictions and conflict in the post-democratic city. Co-founder of displacements: an x’scape journal, he is currently collaborating with the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program in a participatory design process for Southwark School Garden and working with indigenous communes in Quito (Ecuador) to develop self governance and counter-planning tools for an emancipatory and autonomous urban production.
