Art Ignites Change: 35 Years of Impact

by: Mural Arts Philadelphia

The work of transforming public spaces and communities through art does not happen overnight. We’ve spent 35 years using the power of public art to breathe new life into every pocket of Philadelphia and beyond, and as we reflect on our collective impact, it all comes back to you: our supporters.

We couldn't do this work without you.

Whether you’re Philly-born and bred, or a faraway lover of public art, you’ve made a difference. In the last 35 years, everything you’ve given to Mural Arts Philadelphia has been invested  into our creative economy. And because our mission calls for igniting change through the arts, that investment has:

  • connected more than 8,000 community members to health services;
  • responded to a need for immigrant and refugee community spaces by opening multilingual hub sites in the Northeast and Southeast;
  • provided art education programming for over 2,500 young people in Philadelphia’s schools and rec centers each year; and
  • supported more than 100 people in reentry every year, as well as community members who are still incarcerated.

Mural Arts ignites change with hundreds of civic and social partners every year, and we hope that you count yourself among them.

We are proud to have collaborated with a wide range of partners, including local museums, children’s hospitals, criminal justice offices, experimental music organizations, veteran’s service centers, historians and historic sites, environmentalists, athletic groups, cultural alliances, and many civic departments.

It’s been our privilege to serve Philadelphia – to have watched our beloved city become known for public art that reflects the values of our neighborhoods and honors our past.

We’re looking forward to a bold future with you.

Gentlefolks,
very much to my disappointment you haven't seen fit to repair the mural under the SEPTA bridge on East Chelten Avenue in Germantown. I've reported it to you more than TWO years ago....
Maybe 2020 is the year to act on it?
Looking forward to your action!!!
