Tribute to Firefighter Daniel Sweeney Dedication

Mural Arts Philadelphia partnered with the Fox Chase community to create a mural honoring Firefighter Daniel Sweeney who lost his life in the line of duty on April 9, 2012 while protecting the citizens of Philadelphia. This new mural, by Philadelphia-based artist Nathaniel Lee, focuses on Sweeney’s life growing up in Fox Chase and his career with the Philadelphia Fire Department.

The dedication ceremony will commemorate the completion of this tribute mural and bring family, friends, community members, and first responders together to honor the life of Firefighter Daniel Sweeney who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The event is rain or shine – in the event of rain, the ceremony will be held indoors at the Fox Chase Gymnasium adjacent to the baseball field.
