Community Gardens Day: West Philadelphia Mural & Garden Trolley Tour – June 16 SOLD OUT

More about this Route

Each summer, community gardeners across Philadelphia come together to celebrate the start of the growing season and shine light on the many social, health and environmental benefits these open spaces bring to Philadelphia. As part of the Neighborhood Gardens Trust’s annual Community Gardens Day this special combination tour will highlight a variety of beautiful murals as well as stop at two vibrant community gardens, Aspen Farms (founded 1975) and Warrington Community Garden (founded 1973). At each location guests will see murals close up, meet gardeners and explore these lush and unique growing spaces.  The tour will end at PHS’s Farm for the City, a creative and interactive food-awareness public engagement installation that will spotlight healthy food access issues and invite the public to help solve these issues through urban gardening and farming.

This tour will begin at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (128 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102) and end at PHS’s Farm for the City (1401 John F Kennedy Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19102)
