In partnership with the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Mural Arts Philadelphia presents The Art of the Protest — a series of panels and workshops encouraging people to make powerful and creative statements that ignite social change through support of local, national, and global causes. This event series challenges artists and non-artists alike to explore how artistic expression can activate a movement.
On May 1, join us for a workshop co-led by Signs of Solidarity featuring artist, Alloyius McIlwaine. Signs of Solidarity is a collaborative effort led by Philadelphia creatives Conrad Benner, Eric Preisendanz, and Aubrie Costello, which commissions and displays messages of love and inclusivity on large banners throughout the city.
This workshop encourages all attendees to leave armed with their own signs and messages of support. Materials and creative instruction will be provided.
Space is limited so be sure register for this free workshop in advance.
