Roots & Wings: A Story of Transformation

Roots & Wings: A Story of Transformation invites visitors into the graffiti art museum of Rocco Albano’s youth, to the beginnings of his creative journey in post-industrial 1980s Philadelphia, when, as the artist says, “freedom of self-expression could not be constrained and outcast youth ruled like kings, flying high above walls that were built to box us in.”

Roots & Wings is dedicated to Jane Golden, executive director and founder of Mural Arts Philadelphia, for her compassion, empathy, and mentorship of the artist, and her unwavering belief that art transforms lives.
