Restorative Justice Exhibition Opening

Join the Restorative Justice program, artist Hank Willis Thomas, poet Ursula Rucker, artists Jesse Krimes and Russell Craig, and the Guild program to view artwork created as part of the Voices project. The exhibit includes work by our program inside SCI Graterford, the Guild program comprised of 18–24 year olds on probation, and those in reentry through the Philadelphia County Prison system.

Voices, a Mural Arts project supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is designed to humanize and empower conversations around criminal justice in the United States by including and illuminating the perspectives of those who are jailed or who have been recently released from prison. Voices aims to nurture a culture of community health and well-being by promoting acceptance, belonging, and dialogue. Incarcerated participants are invited to share their stories through creative expression, beyond prison walls while cultivating dialogue built on mutual respect and dignity.

Refreshments will be provided at the reception. Visit muralarts.org/voices for calls to action and more information on these free events.
