This year, the Philadelphia Foundation celebrated its centennial by looking forward to the next century of impact with a dramatic new Center City mural, designed to invoke a future where together we can create change, foster hope, and cultivate trust.
Guided by the Philadelphia Foundation’s core values of trust, hope, and efficiency, we embarked on a project that touched people across the city and the region. Over the summer of 2019, we held 9 conversation-starting workshops and 9 community paint days at 16 different locations throughout the 7-county Philadelphia area. Conversations at those workshops helped artist Ernel Martinez design a shared vision of Philadelphia; public paint days allowed community members to continue to build connections in expressive civic spaces.
Please join us as we bring together all of our project contributors to celebrate the completion of this mural, and the impact of the Philadelphia Foundation and its next 100 years of philanthropy.
