Paint Day: Ikiré Jones

Come out to help paint a new mural from our Artrepreneurs program, created with fashion designer Walé Oyéjidé, creative director of Ikiré Jones. Through the lens of global inclusivity and the stories of African immigrants in the West Philadelphia community, students have learned how to design fabric patterns that encourage them to think about how they represent their identities.

It all comes together with this bright, fabric-inspired mural on Lucien E. Blackwell Library, an entrepreneurial hub for African immigrants, helping to express the cultural identity of this vibrant West Philadelphia community. Join us to paint part of a public artwork—no experience required!
