Opening Night: Philadelphia Federal Credit Union (PFCU) Mural Design Competition

Coming to a Wall Near You…

There’s a new mural coming to Fishtown/East Kensington – brought to you by Philadelphia Federal Credit Union (PFCU) and Mural Arts Philadelphia. Back in June PFCU and Mural Arts announced our partnership to commission a mural in the East Kensington-Fishtown neighborhood. Following a month-long Call for Artists, a panel of judges reviewed all of the artist applications and narrowed them down to three finalists. Now, PFCU and Mural Arts have engaged the Philadelphia community to help us select the official design of the mural!

Between Oct. 2 and Oct. 16, three design concepts created by local artists will exhibit at PFCU’s branch for the public to view and vote for their favorite design on PFCU’s Facebook page. A special event celebrating the opening of the exhibition and voting period will take place on October 2, from 6 – 8 p.m. at PFCU’s branch. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the mural concepts and read about the inspiration behind each, meet the artists, enjoy complimentary food and refreshments and vote for their favorite design that reflects the spirit of the neighborhood and everything it has to offer. If you don’t make it on Opening Night, the murals will remain on display at the credit union and you can visit PFCU’s Facebook page to cast your vote for your favorite mural design through October 16.
