Mural Dedication for We Still Here!

Celebrate the history, culture and strength of Germantown at the dedication of We Still Here! a mural by artist Jetsonorama featuring Philadelphia poet Ursula Rucker, on Friday, August 6, 22 Maplewood Mall, 4pm. The central image of Rucker shouting through a megaphone represents the raised voices of Germantown residents who often feel overlooked. The mural features poetry from Rucker as well as community members and students. The event will include food, music and poetry and distribution of a ‘zine created by high school students who, with Jetsonorama and Rucker, studied our society’s built-in inequities and asked that they could do to make it more just.
