Making Home Movies, a signature project from Mural Arts Philadelphia’s Porch Light program will screen a series of new short films at Mifflin Square Park, 500 Wolf Street, on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 6:30pm – 7:30pm, as part of Mural Arts Month presented by Chase. Refreshments served, starting at 6pm.
About the Project
Making Home Movies is in its second iteration. The project is a community building partnership that brings together adult and youth English language learners with filmmakers and community leaders to explore the language and imagery of home.
About the New Films
Refugee families from Bhutan and Burma share intergenerational stories of survival and making a new life in the United States. As parents interview children and children interview their parents, their different realities of migration emerge. For both parents and children, life in another country is an ongoing experience of Making Home.
