Building Brotherhood: Healing the Wounds of Trauma and Violence

Join the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS) Engaging Males of Color (EMOC) initiative and Mural Arts Philadelphia in an important conversation to discuss the ways that men and boys of color can heal from the trauma and violence in their lives. Using the lessons and themes of unity, history and forming bonds from the EMOC mural Colorful Legacy as a foundation, panelists and participants will share their thoughts, concerns and resolutions on safety and mental wellness after a year which saw the highest number of murders citywide in a decade. Resource tables will be available.

This event will serve as the launch for a series of town halls which will be held citywide by DBHIDS to address trauma and violence.
