It’s a lightning bolt! It’s a funky M! It’s the energy of the entire Mural Arts staff! No matter how you interpret it, our new brand is making big waves. Curious about the story behind our fresh look? Check out our DesignPhiladelphia event on October 13, hosted with our friends at J2 Design Partnership.

Spend Friday night at the ultra-hip Painted Bride Art Center in the company of recording artist and poetry celeb Ursula Rucker. Look for guest appearances by members of the Mural Arts Guild at this special October 14 event, as well as a visit from our friend SWOON. Reserve a ticket here or pay at the door.

On October 15, celebrate the Bandstand era and the performing artists who contributed to South Philly’s musical legacy. Grab your poodle skirt and head to the corner of Broad and Tasker Streets for an afternoon block party and the dedication of Eric Okdeh’s new mural, South Philly Musicians Remix.
Head to the river on Sunday for a family-friendly outdoor summer concert, part of the Mural Arts and Bartram’s Garden collaborative project Southwest Roots. Musicians and performers who hail from or identify with Southwest Philadelphia take the stage, and while they share the sounds of Philadelphia, take part in art activities for all ages, grab a delicious snack, or explore an exhibition featuring many of the Southwest Roots projects.
October 18 sees the return of our annual muraLAB Live event, and this year’s theme is “Roots and Risk.” Featured speakers include Jon Rubin, Yasmine Mustafa, Jesse Krimes, Cornbread, Germaine Ingram, and more. Click here to get your ticket and join us at the Prince Theater!
And we’re only half way through the month. Stay tuned to the blog for our weekly listing of cool, creative, and compelling Mural Arts Month events!
