Celebrate Philadelphia's Rich History in Film

by: By Katy Bagli

Mural Arts Philadelphia is working with a diverse group of Film presenting organizations and experts to develop an exciting new mural project celebrating the legacy of Philadelphia Film. The mural will include people, places and other imagery that are connected to film making and related training in Philadelphia. The mural will be located on the back of the Philadelphia Film Center, which is located at 1412 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19102, on Sansom Street.

As part of the discovery phase, we are looking to engage our community in the designing process by asking you all to help us source content for the mural in support of the project’s artist Marian Bailey. We invite you, Philadelphia Film fans, to participate by filling out this survey about what you treasure in the Philly film scene.

In addition to the survey, we have put together an advisory council to help in the final decision making process. Once the survey closes, we will review all responses as a group and see what comes up frequently and what feels like it represents the community best. So join us in making this Philly Film wall just as special as the community we hope to reflect.  The mural is slated for completion in late fall of this year.
