Mural Dedication With Kevin Hart
About the Project
Murals represent our dreams and aspirations, and inspire us to follow the examples of our leaders and role models. This mural by Willis “Nomo” Humphrey honors Philadelphia native Kevin Hart, who grew up just a block away from the site of the mural at Max’s Cheesesteaks. As one of the most versatile comedic actors in both TV and film, Kevin has made Philadelphia proud, and his dedication and perseverance are examples to us all.
The mural shows Kevin’s likeness, and the three words that encompass his philosophy: Live. Love. Laugh. We dedicated this artistic tribute with a blowout celebration on Kevin’s birthday (and officially Kevin Hart Day in Philadelphia) at the intersection of Germantown and Erie Avenues, with musical performances throughout the day. Kevin himself spoke at the dedication, sharing his love for Philadelphia and the neighborhood that shaped him.
