Faruq Adger

Faruq is a Philly native raised in Germantown. His style of art is a mixture of Neo Expression and Cubism, which elevates the emotional aspects of painting through the intense use of color and form. Faruq’s spirited and fantastical visual narratives honor Blackness, ancestry, Black mental health, social justice, and the expression of emotions. His explosive pieces of art elevate the idea of expression and the flourishing of raw emotions within spaces that limit BIPOC expressiveness. Faruq is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania and is planning on majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Africana Studies and Fine Arts. Faruq hopes to blossom a career as a Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice to further strive and work for social justice within our society. Faruq inspires to incorporate art into discussions involving race, diversity, and justice as a platform to connect people through the inclusivity of art.
