Amy Cheng

Amy Cheng was born in Taiwan, grew up in Brazil, Oklahoma and Texas. She has installed public art projects across the U.S. at the Seattle-Tacoma Int’l Airport, Jacksonville Airport, FL, Lambert-St. Louis Int’l Airport, MO, two MTA Subway Stations in Brooklyn, NY, Western State Hospital, Tacoma, WA, an El Station in Chicago, IL, and others.

Cheng also produces paintings and drawings in her studio. Her works are in public and corporate collections such as Hewlett-Packard, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, New York University Langone Medical Center, Florida-Atlantic University, U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan, Sheraton Hotels, Brussels, and others.

She received a BFA in Painting from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MFA in Painting from Hunter College, City University of New York. She is an Art Dept. Professor Emerita at the State University of New York at New Paltz. She has also taught at Bard College, Princeton, and Hunter College.
