All positions working directly with youth require a current PA Child Abuse Background Check, PA State Criminal Background Check, and FBI Background Check. Links to information on getting each clearance are below:
PA Child Abuse. Fee is $10. You must fill this out completely (including all previous names, addresses, and people who lived with you, such as family and roommates. If anything is missing your application will be sent back to you). Check off "child care" for purpose of request. Mail it in to address on form; they will mail back a clearance to you. This usually takes 4-8 weeks. Turn in a copy of this document to Mural Arts.

PA Criminal Check. Fee is $10. You can fill this out online and pay by credit card - you must be at a computer that you can print from. Fill out all requested information accurately - you will be charged for typos. If you have a clear criminal background, you will get results immediately. Print this out and turn it in to Mural Arts.

FBI criminal check Fee is $36 plus a $2.50 fee to receive a paper copy, which you must request, for a total of $38.50. If you do not formally request a paper copy at time of registration, you will have no other way to get one, and will have to complete the entire process and pay the entire fee again. Mural Arts Program does not have access to your file in any other way. Register online at the website below and pay with a credit card. Take your completed registration to one of the fingerprinting sites listed on the website below and turn in a copy to Mural Arts. After you are fingerprinted you will receive a paper copy of your criminal record in the mail in 4-8 weeks. Turn in a copy of this record.
